Expedition Guide Academy (Outwardly Bound Ltd) Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction
Our terms and conditions apply to all our services, including online and in-person courses and assessments. You agree to these terms by booking with us, so please read them carefully.

2. Online Courses & Online Assessments Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations within 14 days of booking: Full refund minus a USD $200 administration fee.

  • After 14 days: 100% non-refundable.

  • In case of cancellation by Expedition Guide Academy: Full refund of fees paid.


3. In-Person Courses & In-Person Assessments Cancellation Policy

  • 90 days or more before the course: Full refund minus a USD $200 administration fee.

  • 31 to 90 days before the course: 50% of the course fee. This includes bookings made 31 to 90 days before the course.

  • Within 30 days of the course: No refund.

  • No refund for bookings/payments made within 30 days of the course start, except in case of cancellation by the Expedition Guide Academy.


4. Travel Insurance Requirement

  • All participants must obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical coverage, and emergency repatriation.

  • We recommend “cancel for any reason” insurance policies.

  • The EGA highly encourage to purchase of insurance covering activities, such as driving a 50 HP powerboat/zodiac.


5. Liability and Risk Disclosure

  • Participation involves inherent risks associated with physical activities and expeditions.

  • The Academy is not liable for personal injuries, death, or property damage.

  • Participants are responsible for their travel arrangements and informed about travel restrictions.

  • Please note that the EGA will not be able to advise you in regards to insurance and which one to get.


6. Course Cancellation by the Expedition Guide  Academy

  • Courses may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances up to 30 days before the start.

  • Full refund of fees paid in case of cancellation by the Academy.


7. Participant Agreement

  • Participants must be physically fit and prepared for the course's demands.

  • The Academy reserves the right to alter schedules due to weather or other events.

  • Instructors may cancel activities for safety concerns without refunds for missed parts.

  • Participants in the  Polar Bear  Safety  &  Firearm Handling course (PBS courses) have to provide the EGA with a current, official clean criminal record. This is gained by the police in most countries. The participant can only use the shooting cinema/shooting range during the course if such paperwork is provided in due time (before course start). The above cancellation and refund policies apply and no exception will be given should, for any given reason, the paperwork not be ready in time.

  • The range can't instruct any member of a nation whom Denmark is in conflict with.


8. Data Protection and Privacy

  • We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with data protection laws.


9. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand and Denmark.


10. Acceptance of Terms

  • By booking a course, participants agree to these terms and conditions.


Vaccination Policy

  • The EGA  highly recommend all participants in in-person courses must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as per EMA guidelines.
