Operator Feedback
Aurora Expeditions

“EGA provides an excellent Polar Bear Safety & Firearm Handling course, tailored to our operations while maintaining full third-party professionalism. The course combines classroom and range instruction in lethal and non-lethal tactics and concludes with a certificate recognized by the Norwegian government, giving our guides a strong foundation in the skills necessary to operate safely and professionally in polar bear habitat.”

Quark Expeditions

"Over the past two Arctic seasons, Quark Expeditions has proudly partnered with the Expedition Guide Academy (EGA) to deliver comprehensive firearm and polar bear safety training that has meaningfully strengthened our expedition team's confidence and competence, sense of preparedness, and overall leadership in the field. The training—conducted both onboard one of our vessels in Aberdeen as well as at EGA’s Copenhagen facility—has emphazised proactive risk management, non-lethal deterrence, and the critical importance of clear communication and team coordination in polar bear environments. Through scenario-based discussions, dry-handling drills, and operational theory, our guides have gained deeper insight into decision-making frameworks for operating in challenging polar bear environments, and a refreshed awareness of the role and responsibilities of firearm and non-firearm carriers alike. The feedback from our team has been overwhelmingly positive. One guide shared, “Pre-season training onboard the ULT in Aberdeen was much appreciated, especially the workshop on polar bear behavior and safety hosted by Ben.” Another team member added, “The pre-season training in Aberdeen with EGA was very useful and I felt a lot safer going into the field with it fresh in mind.” We extend our sincere thanks to the EGA team for their outstanding support and expertise. Ben and Pernille have consistently demonstrated professionalism, deep field knowledge, and a genuine passion for guide development. Their training is not only rigorous and relevant—it’s delivered with clarity, care, and a spirit of collaboration that makes them an absolute joy to work with. We’re grateful for their continued partnership and the lasting impact they’ve made on our team."

Secrete Atlas

"Why EGA?
In April 2025, Secret Atlas held our first annual team meeting in Portugal, and we wanted to make it meaningful. We aimed to invest in our team with something lasting, valuable for both their professional and personal growth.
As we build our company culture and define our values, leadership and team development felt like the right foundation. EGA, led by Ben and Pernille, were the perfect partners, professionals with a pedigree in polar guiding, a passion for teaching and delivering excellence.
The result: our team gained shared tools, insights, and motivation to grow together. It was fun, professional, and tailored to Secret Atlas.
In short, EGA doesn’t give you the fish; they teach you how to fish."
